Over the two days, the group were taught the scientific background plus the tools and techniques used in an Autism Movement Therapy® (AMT) programme. The methodology was explained and practised, they experienced two full sessions of AMT and learned how to differentiate for the level of need of groups and individuals.
The participants can now move forwards to take Stage 2: Professional Level, after 6 months of leading and practising AMT sessions with their groups. Out of the group, 4 have already indicated that they want to go to the next level.
The training incorporates a mixture of presentations, theory and practical elements. As the images below show, this training is for everyone who has an interest in autism and wants to learn more about how best to support autistic individuals through a dance movement approach.
