THIS TRAINING COURSE: STAGE 1: CERTIFICATION
2 DAY INTENSIVE TRAINING WORKSHOP
The initial 10 hour minimum training takes place over two days, normally a weekend. Due to the practical and interactive components, it can only be taken in person. The objective is to teach you the scientific background plus the tools and techniques used in an Autism Movement Therapy® programme. The methodology will be explained and practised. During the training participants will experience two full sessions of Autism Movement Therapy® and learn how to differentiate for the level of need of groups and individuals.
Learning Outcomes:
- Participants will gain deeper knowledge about autism, brain function, the relationship of movement and cognition and how the AMT method specifically benefits autistic individuals
- Participants will learn how the elements and strategies combine to create an effective Autism Movement Therapy® session and the tools needed to create a multi person performative sharing based at their own facility/school
After completing Stage 1, you will receive official Autism Movement Therapy® materials including the licensed music. We encourage you to lead AMT sessions with your children/class/group to better support them and practise delivering the method.
Stage 1 Certification by itself is not a Professional Qualification but it can be considered as the first step
Stage 1 Certificate Holders must complete the Stage 2 Professional Qualification Programme to be able to use the official
Registered Name, Logo and/or advertise/charge publicly for Autism Movement Therapy® (AMT) services.

About the Venue
The state-of-the-art studio at Deptford Lounge is by far our most preferred training venue with air conditioning, a sprung floor and a mirrored wall, it has plenty of room for the 'classroom (presentations and discssions) section of the training and for the movement (AMT) sessions.
Situated in the heart of the community, Deptford Lounge is located on Giffin Square, just off Deptford’s bustling High Street where there are numerous restaurants and bars in the High Street; in the borough of Lewisham, south-east London, has been named one of the 33 coolest streets in the world, following a vote by Time Out magazine. It is easy to reach by public transport and there are numerous reasonably priced hotels close by for those requiring accommodation.
Fees
The full fee for the training is £525, but for bookings received before the end of May, we have an 'early bird' discount of £50, reducing the cost to £475.
You can reserve your place now for a deposit amount of £50 now to secure your place at the current price and you then have the option to pay the balance in full in one payment or by instalments. All fees must be paid by the end of September 2025.
