MovementWorks Online
The outbreak of COVID-19 had a serious impact on all of us; the way live and work, plus the ability for children and adults to stay healthy both physically and mentally.
We realised the difficulties schools and early years settings that were remaining open during this period had in providing a curriculum for children of key workers and vulnerable children of assorted age groups and abilities. In addition, some groups that had to suspend services expressed concerns about their members becoming socially isolated and wanted some activities delivered from familiar faces that they could do at home.
To stay connected to all of you and help as much as we could through these unprecedented times, we created MovementWorks Online providing daily sessions that proved to be welcome and an effective response to the circumstances. Being able to evidence the success of these sessions, we secured funding from the Arts Council and were able to provide more sessions and incorporate 'Feel Good Friday' where we engaged Guest Presenters to provide a varied fun programme.

As we were coming to the end of the Arts Council funding and with the uncertainty around when we would be able to deliver in-person sessions, we were delighted when we were able to secure further funding from UK Youth
When funding ran out we continued to work hard to support our beneficiaries and secured new funding that enabled us to provide our second ‘Action for Autism’ project and the On Demand Library.
Our work to secure funding is ongoing for projects that support our service users, diverse members of the community, marginalised groups, disadvantaged children, vulnerable adults and those most affected by loneliness and isolation.
