SUMMARY:'Action for Autism Youth'
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our weekly ‘Action for Autism Youth’ Community Engagement Project!at WEST Youth Zone\, London W12 7TF \n \nThis project\, aimed at neurodivergent young people age 11 – 16 years\, is fully funded by the National Lottery Community Fund– which makes it free to attend!  \n \nWe have successfully delivered this project for over six years and have reached so many young people in this time and now we are branching out to reach young people in designated youth provisions in two different parts of London – DEVAS Club in Battersea\, Wandsworth on Wednesdays and WEST Youth Zone in White City\, London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham on Sundays. \nThese weekly Autism Movement Therapy® classes are proven to make a difference to the young people who attend. increased confidence\, reducing anxiety and improving behaviour at home and school are just a few of the results that have been reported by their parent/carers.(Further testimonials and info can be found on our webpage – Action for Autism) “She communicates non-verbally with teachers\, which she would not do before. She is more into conversations via text with her friends. Before she was on her own – but now is friends at lunchtimes etc.” “Every week sessions gave my daughter routine with physical activities.Having a hard year at school (studying for GCSE) these sessions allow her to focuson her body / music / new friends not just on a one session but every Wednesday.” “She communicates non-verbally with teachers\, which she would not do before. She is more into conversations via text with her friends and no longer on her own at lunchtimes.“ This session\, the WEST Youth Zone cohort is held weekly on Sunday afternoons (term time only)It starts at 12 noon and is for 45 minutes to an hour. \nParents/carers are required to register their young person for the programme and once enrolled in the project there is an expectation that the young person will attend weekly to get the maximum benefit. A small admin fee of £20 is requested to help with the Charity’s funds\, other than that the sessions are free to attend.\, We do not want this request to be a barrier for any young person wishing to take part. \nPlaces are limited so will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. \nTo register your young person\, either complete the form on our Action for Autism pageor email us direct on: info@movementworks.org
